This thread exists so I can organize my suggestions, and so people who want to have a closer look can have easy access. Here goes!

*Signifies threads that were originally posted on Terraria Online (and can be viewed there).

Of course, I'm putting my must-reads at the top where they can be seen even by those with a short attention span. But yeah, you should be reading all of them.

Underground Dynasty
-First actual biome suggestion.
-Biome contains content previously exclusive to Traveling Merchant.
-New potion ingredients, enemies, weapons... just read it.

Emblems are Music Boxes: The Final Fix
-Completely eliminates the need to grind the Wall of Flesh to obtain the Avenger Emblem.
-Classless emblem is granted to Mimics instead, transforming into one of four Emblems based on class damage dealt while equipped.
-Summoner Emblem is neatly incorporated into Papyrus Scarab tinkering lineage.

Biome Weapon Project
-Biggest project I'm ever done in my entire life.
-Weapons of each class added for each biome chest.
-Biome chests are scattered throughout the world, and biome key drop rate rises to compensate.
-Content of biome chests is indicated by Class Lantern that generates with it, which also acts as a crafting recipe for Class Emblems (WoF drops blank Golden Emblem instead).
-Totl number of new unique weapons added: 27.

Weapon/Tool Suggestions

Sacrificial Knife
-Weapon crafted with Obsidian, Jungle-tier.
-Increases drop rate of hearts, as a nod to the Aztec sacrificial rituals.

Magic Sponge
-Tool that drains large quantities of water and can release them elsewhere, facilitating cleanup.
-Also freezes lava and solidifies honey for easy removal.

Clarinet
-Greatly increases spawn rate and lowers enemy defense, acting like an upgrade to the Water Candle.
-Dropped by Squidward.

Puppetmaster's Staff
-Summons Voodoo Puppets that shoot needles at enemies.
-After enemies are hit by needles, the puppets that attacked them can be hit to damage those enemies.

*Marine Biology-inspired Equipment
-Various tool/weapon suggestions, based on real life counterparts.
-Includes: Lamprey, Hatchetfish, Pistol Shrimp, Cleaner Wrasse.

*Pirate's Deck

-Semi-Razorpine with random damage, random range, and random degree of crowd control.
-Crafted using Enchanted Card drops from Pirate Invasion.

*Treasure Hunter's Knife

-Ordinary sword with the ability to cut rare-item hunting time by 75%.
-Mechanics are a bit complicated; see thread for explanation.

*Evil Biome-themed Weapons

-New enemy added: Giant Neuron, analog to Plant AI enemies.
-Unique weapons created corresponding to rare drops from Crimson/Corruption enemies.
-Includes: Axon Whip, Mother Parasite, Septic Spewer, Gastric Blaster.

*Soul Chain

-Links up to 5 enemies together so that when one is hit, the others take equivalent damage.

*Ether Net

-Intercepts enemy projectiles, possibly yielding assorted items and ammunition.
-Chaos Balls and Water Spheres become the means by which Water Candles and Demon Torches are crafted.
-Ether Net instantly harvests Dungeon Spirits.

*Various Hockey Equipment
-Undead Hockey Player: HM Snow biome spawn during Blood Moon.
-Hockey Stick: "spear" that launches pucks.
-Hockey Mask: helmet that increases chainsaw damage.
-Mouth Guard: reduces contact damage taken.

*Exploding Skull Bows
-Bow dropped by Skeletron.
-Places exploding skull charm on enemies, activates after a delay.
-Upgraded by combining with Marrow bow in Hardmode.

Sharkron Varieties
-Tempest Staff summons sharknadoes that fire one of three different kinds of sharks.
-Mako Sharknado is faster with higher velocity, but with less damage.
-Hammerhead Sharknado is more powerful, but slower and more affected by gravity.
-Sprites.

*Senbonzakura: Flower Pow Revamp
-More flower petals, coming from off screen and orbiting the flail head.
-Encourages use of flail throw mechanics.

Rain Bow
-Possible biome chest alternate to Rainbow Gun.
-Fires three volleys of two arrows each from three different stacks, allowing for colorful combinations.

Accessory/Mount Suggestions

Ghost Ship mount
-Mount that flies, just like any other.
-Special function allows it to phase through walls, using the breath meter.

Auto-Inserter
-Accessory that allows wearer to place blocks directly on top of other ones, replacing them.
-Allows remodeling around background objects that are destroyed without being dropped, like Demon Altars.

Nerd Glasses
-Informational accessory that displays enemy drops when moused over.
-Combined with GPS.

Seraph and Lucifer Wings
-Seraph Wings: allow secondary flight at the cost of mana. Reduces mana cost of all weapons to zero to avoid penalizing mages.
-Lucifer Wings: allow secondary flight at the cost of health.

Hedgehog Shoes
-The ultimate movement accessory over solid ground, that grants the ability to tuck into a damaging spin dash.

*Retention Potion and Alchemist's Ring[/B]
-Retention Potion: synchronizes buffs, and bumps them to 10 minute duration.
-Alchemist's Ring: Raises buff durations. Tinkered with Charm of Myths.

*Blood Pressure Cuffs

-Tinker involving Panic Necklace, Band of Regeneration, and Shackle.
-Raises movement and damage in accordance to how much health the wearer has lost.

*Zodiac

-Introduces five-day long months, each featuring its own constellation.
-Each month is associated with a miniboss that drops a special accessory.
-Each accessory gives two out of seven bonuses: dodge chance, crit chance, damage, ignoring defense, defense, regeneration, movement speed.
-Each accessory also provides a completely unique bonus when used in its corresponding month.
-Twenty-one special bonuses are introduced. They may be added without full implementation of the Zodiac Project.

*Chaos Medallion

-Wearer teleports randomly to dodge a killing blow.
-Chaos State inflicted for balance.

Magic Surfboard

-Mount dropped from Duke Fishron.
-Allows user to ride a wave, even over land.
-Freezes lava lakes, fast travel over water.

Photovoltaic Cell
-Photosynthetic Crystal: raises regen and speed based on light level.
-Voltaic Cell: charges with movement and provides light, and zaps enemies that get close.
-Tinkered combination: Photovoltaic Cell.

Armor Suggestions

*Tunnel Armor

-Upgrade to Mining Armor, with enough defense to be viable in Hardmode.
-Gives off light, increases tile reach, and outlines block layout of the map.
-Gives Tunnel King a cameo.

*Combat-adapted Boss Masks

-Boss Masks gain Post-Plantera upgrades.
-Each upgraded boss mask gains a summoning-related set bonus featuring a miniature version of the boss represented.

*Cobalt/Mythril/Adamantite brainstorming thread

-New set bonuses provided to Cobalt, Mythril, and Adamantite armor.
-Separate set bonuses given to Hallowed Mask, Helmet, and Headgear.
-Post your ideas!

Enemy Suggestions

Horseshoe Crab
-Spawns in the Ocean, providing renewable Lucky Horseshoes.
-Leaves room for class weapons besides melee in Skyware Chests, if implemented with Balloon Slime.

Prehistoric Enemies
-New miniboss spawns, post-Golem.
-Dunkleosteus, Pterodactyl, Giant Dragonfly, and more, if I actually get around to spriting them.
-Each drops a special piece of equipment... you'll see.

Honey Badger
-Doesn't give a :red:.
-Drops an accessory that boosts damage along with Honey Regeneration, and grants immunity to having to give a :red:.

Balloon Slime
-Spawns at Floating Island level, becoming a normal slime when health drops.
-Drops Shiny Red Balloon, allowing the Bundle of Balloons to be crafted on a single world.

Sand Worm
-A post-mech worm enemy that spawns in the desert.
-Drops Desert Spice, which increase stats but cause addiction.
-Drops Crysknife, which has powerful stats but must taste blood before being sheathed, or else.

Consumable Item Suggestions

Vampire Blood
-Healing potion that grants 10 seconds of lifesteal instead of directly healing health.
-Still gives Potion Sickness, and lifesteal is capped.

Biome Recall Potions
-Crafted with unused Recall Potions and materials from biome of interest.
-Teleports drinker to random area within respective biome.

*Felix Felicis
-Potion that increases rare drop rates.
-Requires an ingredient from an enemy that spawns the night after an Eclipse.

*Tranquilizer Darts

-Ammo for the Blowgun.
-Stricken enemies are less likely to notice the player.
-Stricken passives (including Truffle Worms) drop as items.
-Calming Potion allows players to sneak up on passives unnoticed.

Vanity Suggestions

*Butterfly Hairpins

-Allows Butterflies to be worn on the head.
-Requires Hairpin, guaranteed drop from Nymphs.

*Invisible Dye

-Cancels appearance of items in vanity accessory slot, allowing them to be used for convenience and storage.
-Enables and logically explains the ability to apparently fly without wings.
-Allows players to walk around in their underwear.

*Contact Lenses
-Accessory that grants vision-related buffs to wearer.
-Main use lies in changing player's eye color with dye.

*Personalized Umbrellas
-Threads are crafted with Dye and new basic Thread item.
-Threads used to craft different colored Umbrellas.
-Umbrellas held over the shoulder when not used to slow fall.

Crafting Material Suggestions

Coconuts
-Dropped by Palm Trees, equivalent to Acorns.
-Used to craft Shredded Coconut (consumable), Giant Coconut (Boulder alt), and Coconut Bra.

Torn Membrane
-Crafting material dropped by Demons to create a more logical Demon Wings recipe.
-Also usable for random things like hammocks, trampolines, potions.

*Glacial Ice
-Exclusive ore/bar for Underground Snow biome, requiring Adamantite/Titanium Pickaxe to obtain.
-Replaces Hallowed Bars in Frost Armor crafting recipe, to make it more logical.
-Provides a more logical crafting ingredient for proposed Frost Bullets, Flask of Frost, and perhaps Frostburn Arrows (to be buffed accordingly).
-Generic HM Underground Snow crafting material.

*Hell Cinders

-Dropped commonly from Hell enemies.
-Replaces some Hellstone Bars in Molten crafting recipes, reducing the grind.
-Hellforges require Molten Pickaxe to mine, so first Hellstone Bars must be smelted in Hell.
-Renewable alternative to Hellstone in recipes for Hellfire Arrows and Flask of Fire.
-Generic Hell crafting material.

*Corn Syrup

-Corn Syrup harvested from new Corn plant.
-Corn Syrup used to craft Candy Corn and Soda.
-Candy Corn and Soda can be consumed to provide Sugar Rush buff. Candy Corn is still ammunition.
-Cooking Oil harvested from Sunflowers (now farmable).
-Cooking Oil used to fry fish and shrimp in a Hellstone fryer. Provides 15 minutes of Well-Fed.

*Alternate method of obtaining Tiki Armor

-Witch Doctor sells placeable Tiki Idol instead of Tiki Armor, which allows Tiki Spirit enemies to spawn at night.
-Tiki Spirits (Dungeon Spirit AI) drop Enchanted Wood, used with Chlorophyte to craft Tiki Armor.
-Tiki Spirits also rarely drop Tiki Totem pet summoner.

Biome-related Suggestions

*Cobweb Variations

-Gives biomes their own analogs of Cobwebs, where they wouldn't make sense otherwise.
-Crimson: Nerve Fibers. Corruption: Decaying Strands. Hallow: Refracting Silk. (Cyber: Loose Wiring.)
-New decorative ropes introduced, using the cobweb variations.
-Crimson: Spinal Cord. Corruption: Clinger Vine. Hallow: Fiber Optic Cable. (Cyber: Cybernetic Cable.)
-Spinneret Wand: Places Spider Cave Walls.

*Regenerating Orbs and Hearts

-Hammering Demon Hearts/Shadow Orbs converts them into a "broken" form instead of destroying them.
-Broken Orbs/Hearts regenerate over time.
-One additional Floating Island taken over by opposite evil biome, featuring a single Orb/Heart at its center, created during worldgen.

Placeable Item Suggestions


Gem Portal Trees
-Randomly generates six trees throughout the world, based on the six existing gems.
-Trees are destroyed when broken, and randomly generate elsewhere if their seed is not planted within a short time.
-Universal Mirror teleports the user to one of the trees, based on the player's currently-displayed Large Gem.

*Party Prize Machine
-Placeable prize machine that accepts tickets and dispenses various novelty items.
-Prizes include Fake Throwup, Groucho Glasses, and Giant Hamster ball. More than 20 unique prizes, all of doubtful practical use!

*Slumber Party Essentials

-Placeable Pillows allow more aesthetic way to prevent fall damage.
-Pillow Cannon, so they can be used for pillow fights.
-Giant Pillow "sword", for traditional pillow fights.
-Jumping on beds (autojump, reduced height).

*Phoenix Statue

-Players who set their spawn in a room containing this statue can respawn with maximum health.

*Beehive Crafting Station

-Provides a more legitimate-feeling way to generate infinite Honey.
-Serves purpose of liquid Honey in crafting Bottled Honey.
-Allows herbs to bloom nearby even outside normal blooming conditions.
-Provides renewable source of bait (larvae).

*Star Bacon

-Glowing Beacon: found in Crates, generic light source that can display Large Gems.
-Star Beacon: increases chance of Falling Stars falling.
-Stellar Core: Dropped from Fallen Stars that collide above Floating Island level, crafting material.
-Celestial Magnet crafted from Stellar Core and Lodestone (sold by Traveling Merchant in place of Magnet, slightly increases pickup range for everything).

*NPC Statues

-Statues that allow communication with NPCs at a distance.

*Mechanical Dolls

-Allows player to control an invincible mechanical doll with its own inventory.
-Player remains helpless and exposed while doll is under control.
-Additional controllable machines based on Demon, Harpy, Hornet, and others.

Game Mechanics Suggestions


Providing a damage debuff to Cursed Inferno
-Cursed Inferno debuff lowers the affected entity's attack power.
-Additional accessory suggested that makes player-inflicted debuffs permanent.

*Manual Targeting for Summoners
-Allows minions and turrets to target the mouse, making it possible for summoners to be used in PvP.
-Removes freedom of placement, in exchange.
-Three new turrets suggested, based on Antlion, Clinger, and Ichor Sticker.

*Summoner Prefixes
-Prefixes pertaining to how summoning items work.
-Modifications to capacity and pursuit range.
-Capacity modification is complicated, see thread.

*Honey Comb's Hardmode Problem
-Raises bee damage in proportion to damage received when the accessory activates.

*Partial Victory over Mechanicals
-Bosses drop some Hallowed Bars even if you don't officially defeat them.
-Prime drops Bars from destroyed limbs, Twins drop bars during transition/if one is destroyed, and Probes have a small chance to drop Bars.

*Can I get useful items for once, game?
-Make the Penguin and Turtle pet summoners obtainable through fishing instead of being found in chests.
-Rename to "Frozen Sardine" and "Kelp" to differentiate from newer items.
-Make Pharaoh vanity independent from Sandstorm in a Bottle/Flying Carpet in Pyramid chests.

I like the majority of these ideas.. all but the partial mech victory one, I think. We used to need to defeat all mechs for hallowed armor, now we only need to defeat one (or two with the twins). A victory should be required to win your prize.

I updated it. Took me a while. But now it's worthy of the name "Suggestion List" instead of "Suggestion Archive", I hope.
