Biomes & Nature [Sprites] Underground Desert Expansion

Terrarian
Even though the underground desert has a plethora of deadly enemies in hardmode, most of them lack any notable drops that make it worth going there. That can be remedied by adding some unique items that can only be farmed in the Underground Desert, and also fill in a few niches that'll help it become a fully fleshed out biome. It also provides a great opportunity for a viable hardmode thrower class.

  • Desert Spirits, All Ghouls, and Lamia have a chance to inflict the Possessed Debuff for 1 minute.
  • Current Desert Spirit is now exclusive to Corrupt Underground Desert.
  • Tomb Crawlers and Dune Splicers drop Antlion Mandibles (11.11%).
  • Underground Desert Houses contain Sandstone furniture and golden chests are replaced with Sandstone chests.
  • Scorpions have a small chance to inflict the Venom Debuff for 6 seconds.

  • 40% increase in throwing damage
  • 25% increase in throwing critical strike chance
  • 50% chance not to consume thrown item
  • Set Bonus: Thrown weapons have a chance to create small dust devils that deal half the base damage of the weapon. They last for about 2 seconds and enemies caught within the dust devil are knocked back and forth repeatedly until it disappears.

Please Please if you never take another fan suggestion again please take this one. I have complained that the enemies aren't unique and there is no point in going to the underground desert in hard mode and this is exactly what i want.

One suggestion. Perhaps give Basilisks the petrification ability?
 
The only problem i have with it is The spirit flame looks a little bit like Nebula Fragments
That is my only problem, I think you've gained more support.

This is great. Adds some endgame thrower, plus the weapons all seem original. Not much more to add really, except maybe something like a biome crate?
 
I always felt like the underground desert biome was kinda useless in hardmode, this is almost all that I ever wanted - all that it needs is a boss.

As for a little bit of (hopefully) useful feedback:

Desert Mimic could use a bit more loot. At the moment, it only drops one weapon and a hook, and it hardly carries an outstanding theme the way that the other giant Mimics do.

The Magic Lamp sounds like its almost identical to the Fairy Bell and available in the same tier. It could use a distinguishing ability, like the ability to find treasure that other light-providing pets offer. Maybe it could glow brighter when there are more enemies nearby? Provide light that ignores tile blockage?

Ethereal Dart is a bit lackluster compared to its other Hardmode Dart counterparts, which all have special abilities that go beyond simply inflicting a debuff. I think an additional ability is in order... perhaps emitting homing spirit flames upon hitting an enemy?

My brain exploded from how good this is.

I love the effort you put into this and the unique style of this suggestion. This would definitely be a great expansion to the underground dessert, seeing how it is a bit bland. The walls potion would be wonderful to have instead of an actual shield. I would also like to take the new weapons for a spin! In other terms, this is absolutely... Splendid! Someone needs to add this in-game! Good job sir!

The wall potion will be useful in case out don't want a shield. I have to say, the catchers mitt seems like a cool item. I'd probably use it on those irritating ragged casters before pelting them with baseballs. I would suggest a few more weapons but I don't have any ideas.

This is a cool expansion. Also nice pocket sand reference.
