Is Minecraft Steve or the Terraria Player stronger? I have the answer.

In the video you shared, it was assumed that if you made a golden apple with 8 gold blocks, that apple would weight more than 8 gold blocks, and if you made a banner with many golden apples then that banner would have the weight of all the golden apples. With that logic we could assume that if you made a platinum coin from a million copper coins, it would still weigh a million copper coins.

Well, let's see.

A block is 2ft^3. So, we can then compare the size of a coin to the size of a block.

Wow. Coins are pretty big.

If a block is 8 "pixels" (terrarian pixels are actually 2x2) across and is 2 feet wide, and a coin is 7 pixels across, then a coin is 1.75 feet wide. Coins are 8 pixels tall, so they are 2 feet tall. Those are some REALLY big coins.

For our purposes, we'll assume terrarian coins have the same length:thickness ratio as an American Quarter Dollar. This makes a terrarian coin 0.068435754189944 feet thick.

Doing some math to find the volume of the coin, and we find it has a volume of 0.153980446927374ft^3. This is 4360.2407cm^3.

Now, we use the density of copper, 8.933 grams per cubic centimeter, to find just how much a terrarian copper coin weighs.

It's 38950.0301731 grams. That's a pretty heavy coin.

Now, there are 1,000,000 copper coins in a platinum coin, which stack up to 999. The player has 59 inventory slots, including the main inventory (50), coins (4), ammo (4), and trash (1). Coins can fit into all of these. We'll add one more slot, putting it up to 60, since a player can have an item held by their cursor, as well as a full inventory.

So, let's do the math.

1,000,000 (number of copper coins in a platinum coin) x 999 (number of platinum coins per stack) x 60 (number of stacks of 999 platinum coins the player can hold) x 38950.0301731 (weight of a single terrarian copper coin) gives us the mass of all those coins to be...

2,334,664,808,575,614 grams! That's a lot of mass!

Unfortunately, that makes The Player significantly weaker than Steve, who can lift

And that's just a single block. Multiply that by 64 (max stack size) and inventory size (27 slots + 9 hotbar slots + 4 inventory crafting slots + one cursor carry, so 41 slots total), and add the mass of a full set of golden armor (51,520 KG), and you get...

Terraria players have to kill enemies and fight ridiculously hard bosses and events. Not to mention carry their massive weaponry and armors. Terraria players are stronger people :D

Why do you care if people do some math? It's ridiculous. Obviously I'm not trying to convince people one game is better than the other. I just thought people would be interested in some math showing how ridiculously strong both game characters are.

You do realize you're comparing coins with blocks made of, well, I don't think you specified.
Anyway - totally unfair comparison.

Blocks are specified in the video. But for reference, it's NBT tagged chests full of chests full of chests, etc, the bottom layer of chests full of stacks banners, which have enchanted golden apples stacked multiple times to make the pattern on them. This goes all the way down to the NBT depth limit of Minecraft.

Not really an unfair comparison. They're both characters that can hold tens of thousands of ridiculously heavy items, and it seemed like a good math exercise to see just who could hold the most.

Terraria players have to kill enemies and fight ridiculously hard bosses and events. Not to mention carry their massive weaponry and armors. Terraria players are stronger people :D

Math says otherwise.

I think a better statement would be "Terraria players are better fighters than Minecraft characters." Anyway, Minecraft characters also wear armor, use weapons, though not as large as terrarian ones, and fight bosses. I wont pretend that Minecraft boss fights are cooler than Terrarian ones, though.
 
Oh, wait, this thread is about logic? Here we go. Minecraft's max stack for building blocks, compared with Terraria. 64 against 999. It was never fair to begin with.

From logic, the Terraria character wins due to being able to carry dozens of thousands of stacks of dirt, as opposed to the Minecraft wimp who barely (if even) carries a thousand.

Math says whatever you want it to say if you omit data or focus in only one aspect of what you're measuring and disregard the rest. As such, it can be made into an inexact science rather easily.

This is clearly due to the laws of the Minecraft universe preventing too much matter from existing in a single stack; otherwise, they will fuse, like the hydrogen at the core of a star, causing catastrophe.

Anyway, it all depends on how you look at the data, as you said.

also, Steve can carry 41 stacks of 64 items, or 2624 items, which is quite a bit over a thousand.
