Game Mechanics Zoom in/zoom out

This applies to PC too.
You are able to do that already on PC?

Change your ingame resolution on your Monitor or Laptop. However though, how much you can actually zoom out is dependent on the max resolution it can support. So if your computer has a monitor that supports to less than 1920x1080, then it will not be able to support a 1080p view. Also, that view requires a moderatly powerful computer to play that. Some may only go to something like 1280x762 or such, meaning you won't be able to increase the resolution past that.

For Xbox One though... MrRudi, an Engine Dev, said they may implement something for that system later, but were unable to due so because an extra button was not added on the controller.

No. The character's size never changes. Only the amount of stuff you can see does.

This is not ideal though, the PC version really needs a zoom in and zoom out feature like the console versions currently have.

Mind you you just responded to a comment made over 9 months ago.

Consoles and PC work off of different code, and therefore have different ways of dealing how the Resolution is presented.

Xbox One runs a different, custom resolution code that works for just that console (and PS4), but is made exclusively for them. Because the developers know that the product does not need to have a broad range of playability over many different types of hardware, they were able to add this.

PC needs to run off of a set resolution that the user sets at all time because of how PC's render graphics, and how broad a spectrum the PC department is in terms of power for every system.

Like I said though. If your computer is powerful enough, changing your resolution via the Video portion will be sufficient enough to mimic the Console versions way of doing it, just so you can get the just right amount of screen visibity that you want.

Seriousely?!?!?!?

For mobile, I would want to zoom out so it would make boss fights much easier. Like when you are fighting duke fishron for crying out loud

Uh, its sort of possible, but kind of wonky. It may not work on every computer but while on the main menu, go to settings, then video, then toggle the highest resolution possible, select the border-less window, and then click apply. For some reason changing the resolution while in the game doesn't actually change it, and just resets the next time you open the settings through the escape menu, at least that is what happens when I attempt to change it, it might be different for other computers. A good way to actively zoom in and out would be by means of third party software, a couple mods can do it.
Wow this thread is almost two years old
