Man I haven't been on here in ages. I wanted to say I have a very game breaking bug at the moment. Anytime I try to create a new world, it loads forever and freezes. So I can't make any new worlds. Anyone know a fix?

Update: The patch is now available to download on Xbox One & PS4.

Greetings Terrarians! We’re happy to announce that a new patch will be releasing Tuesday, December 11th at 10:00AM (Pacific Time) on PS4 & Xbox One. Please keep in mind that it may take some time for the update to propagate to your console.

As we explained in our previous “State of the Game” posts, the team was focused primarily on a Unity Game Engine update. This was done to remove some tech debt that accumulated during development.

Think of it as game development housekeeping.

We were also able to address several noteworthy bugs that were reported by the community which you can check out below.

Multiplayer & Split-Screen Fixes
  • Fixed a bug where multiplayer players would be stuck in an infinite load after the host force quit Terraria.
  • Fixed several bugs that would occur from exiting and re-entering both split-screen and online multiplayer in different ways.
  • Fixed a bug where players were unable to add the maximum number of split-screen players into a multiplayer session.
  • Fixed a bug where accessories equipped or unequipped would not be reflected for either the host or other players in the session.
  • Fixed a bug where the game would sometimes freeze for the host when multiple players joined the game simultaneously.
  • Fixed a bug where the player would fail to navigate to a multiplayer session after accepting the invitation while they hosted a multiplayer game.
  • Fixed a few other crashes that occurred from different actions surrounding console invitations.
Functionality Fixes
  • Fixed a bug that would cause the crafting menu to not update when the player ran out of material while in auto-pause.
  • Fixed a couple of different bugs related to sign-in changes on Xbox One.
  • Fixed a bug that would cause the cursor movement to become inconsistent when the extendo grip was equipped.
General Crash Fixes
  • Fixed several PS4 crashes that were reported via the System Crash Reporter.
    • Includes fix for Daybreak Weapon crash.
    • Includes fix for crashes that occurred while mining.
    • Includes other miscellaneous gameplay crashes.
Performance Fixes
  • Fixed a bug where the frame-rate would drop drastically when the primary player would exit and rejoin a session several times.

Art & Text Fixes
  • Fixed a bug where the defe
I'm glad to see this game still getting updated. Even tho I stopped playing it because of the update the changed the UI and such.

To me the current UI works well for pc/mouse/KB. But not for controller. The old UI was much much better for console. I just wish there was a way to go back to it :/ The whole reason I bought the console versions was for the ease of use.

nse stats of armors would flicker when equipped.

Do ppl not know how to change the Ui? Seriously? That's funny.

Anyone else having terrible frame rate after update?

I'm afraid I'm going to have to return to PC.

Been playing Terraria for years. I believe I have been more than patient for them to get this port up to par with the PC version.

Heya, ever since I installed the update, my late game keeps crashing. For example the terra blade lags out the screen, and fighting bosses, even simple ones like golem, freeze the game permanently. I'm unsure what I could do to fix this. I was suspicious that it was due to the fact the world is "large" and that the dropped item limit has probably been far surpassed. Anyways hope someone can point me in the right direction, have a good Christmas

For some reason, whenever i go near my arena-house on PS4 (that has some banners from 1.2) the game freezes up. I tried going there with a mount, walking, the stuff. it still freezes up! im thinking it's the banners, so i might have to blow it up with bombs.

Ooh time bombs.

So I’ve downloaded the update and I tried out the Vortex Beater Glitch, Then it kinda worked but didn’t ( Xbox One Btw),

Here’s the full detail, so when I swap to anything with the hotbar, it keeps shooting as a vortex Beater not using the item and kinda makes it have infinite ammo I guess, but none of the item shenanigans, does run out like normal, so yeah. Gimme some info on that. :3

I was on farming the Christmas event today. Why is it that whenever you actually want the Traveling Merchant to appear, he never does? I only saw him twice today and only once did he have one of the Christmas paintings.

According to the wiki, the Nymph is a 0.1% spawn in hardmode. I went to use my Underground Hallow chaos elemental farm in order to farm presents (and holy bleep was it busy down there), and in the three hours or so I was down there, I went from 27 Nymphs killed to 42. Either someone sneakily turned up the spawn rate or I just got really bleeping lucky.

Terraria mobile, last update is Dec 10, 2015 like… 3 years+ ago.

To mobile players. Yes, you been fool around. Time tell the truth. 3 years+ is ridiculous.

To anyone experiencing mega lag after the update on xbox one, I managed to fix it on mine simply by uninstalling and reinstalling the game. Took 5 mins and sorted everything out!!!

After complaining that my world has been too quiet lately, the game decided to give me some action. I had two solar eclipses right after each other, then a slime rain and a blood moon happening simultaneously.

Okay, I have now run into the hardlock/crash bug other people have been talking about.

I was trying to get into my trophy room world to put a couple of Christmas trees in my build over there. But just as the world began to open, it froze. Solid. And then crashed to the Xbox One home screen. I tried again, same thing. And again, same thing. My other worlds seem to work, but I cannot get into my trophy room world. The game locks up solid and then crashes when I try.

I sent a bug report and attached a video clip that shows the crash as best I can capture it
