OOC Blades of Energy (OOC)

You recently turned 15, you're old enough to get an energy weapon. Tomorrow morning, you're going to the altar. You make sure to get good rest for the following day!

Info/Rules:
Character Rules:
1. You can be any humanoid race. (It doesn't change stats or anything just appearance! eg: elf, human, orc.)
2. You can pick any energy weapon (This does change function depending on the type of weapon. eg: sword, wand, hammer, bow. A sword would swing faster than for example a hammer, a wand could cast energy attacks, and a bow can shoot energy arrows.)
3. Your character has to pick between different starting abilities. These are Heal, Clone, and Timeslow.
4. The HEX color of your text is the same color of the energy from your weapon (eg: red text = red energy weapon)
5. At every level, you get more powerful.
6. When you get your energy weapon you are joining the guild (read lore for more info)
7. When you level up, you get 5 points to put in the 3 stats: defense, agility, and attack. At level 4 and up, you get 3 points instead of 5. Every 1 defense gives you 2 health, and every 5 defense gives you +1% chance to block, maxes out at 5%. Every 1 agility increases your attack speed and running speed by 2, and every 5 agility gives you +1% chance to dodge, maxes out at 5%, every 6 running speed is another meter per post, you start at 1 meter per post, every 8 attack speed is 1 more attack per post. Every 1 attack increases your damage by 1. Damage is attack %2 (rounded up). The starter stats max out at 20, for example these could be starter stats: atk 7, def 9, agil 4. AoE range is 2 meters for something like a rocket launcher, and half a meter for a flamethrower. AoE damage is 1 third of main damage.
8. You can have as many characters as you want!
9. You can leave the guild, but I'd recommend waiting for a good time in the plot if you want to.
10. You start with a 15% total for blocking and dodging, and you can put any number into blocking or dodging as long as it adds up to 15%, e.g. 5% dodging 10% blocking.
11. You can hold 25 items at a time. There will be banks in the cities. (Not including equipment.
12. At certain points in the plot you can level up by doing a certain impressive feat. (e.g. killing a strong monster, like a giant.)
13. There are 5 types of monsters: Low; Medium; High; Intense; Disastrous. Monsters are ranked by what they do and how deadly they are. For example: A slime is Low; a wolf-beast (a larger, deadlier wolf.) is Medium; An Amphiptere is High; A giant is Intense; A dragon is Disastrous.

Equipment Rules:

1. A light weapon like a dagger can hit thrice a post, a medium weight weapon like a sword can hit twice per post, heavy weapons like an axe, a hammer, or a scythe can hit
once a post. A light weapon adds +2 damage, a medium weigh weapon adds +4 damage, and a heavy weapon adds +8 damage.
2. A very fast ranged weapon like a machine gun shoots twice a post, a fast weapon like a pistol shoots once a post, a medium speed weapon like a bow shoots once 2 posts, a slow ranged weapon like a rifle shoots once 3 posts, a very slow ranged weapon like a rocket launcher shoots once every 6 posts. A very fast ranged weapon adds 1 damage, a fast ranged weapon adds +2 damage, a medium speed ranged weapon adds +4 damage, a slow ranged weapon adds +6 damage, and a very slow ranged weapon adds +8 damage.
3. Light armor like leather adds +2 defense and -1 attack speed, medium weight armor like chainmail adds +4 defense and -2 atk speed, and heavy armor like steel plating adds +6 defense and -4 attack speed.
4. Very slow ranged weapons have extra functions, a rocket launcher would have aoe that deals 2 damage, and a harpoon would have piercing.
5. Special weapons are different to normal ones, things like healing wand's and flamethrower's stats have to be based on what they are, as they are too different than a normal weapon. A flamethrower would need a small bit of aoe and fire damage, and a healing wand needs healing. Please don't make special weapons super powerful and a huge advantage.
6. Nobody but you can use your energy weapon unless you allow it to, it has a whitelist of people that can use it. By default only the original user can use it, but the original user can allow other people to. Even if somebody can use it, they cannot allow other people to use it.

Ability Rules:
Your character has to pick between different starting abilities. These are Heal, Clone, and Timeslow. When you pick an ability, you get to pick from sub-abilities. You can pick another ability at level 3. You have to level up to level 6 to make it level 3 tier.

Heal: At lvl 1 heals 10% of max health, lvl 2 20%, lvl 3 30%.
Bloodlust (Attack): Heal the damage you deal with your next attack.
Dual Heal (Defense): Heal the entire group, with less healing per target
First Aid (Agility): Increase the person you heal agility by 1 (Limit of 3 boosts per person per battle, and the effect expires by the end of the battle)

Clone: At lvl 1 clones have 25% of characters max stats, lvl 2 clones have 50% of characters max stats, lvl 3 clones have 75% of characters max stats, there is 1 clone for lvl 1, 2 for lvl 2, and 3 for lvl 3 characters. Duration is 3 posts for lvl 1, 5 for lvl 2, and 7 for lvl 3. You can make them do things like blocking, or doing tasks like digging or doing circuitry. Your energy weapon uses the plasma manipulation from protosteel to create a hardened plasma version of your character. You can tell if a clone is not the real one because it's the color of the user's energy weapon, with the exception of decoy clones (Your allies can tell it isn't you.). Clones have all equipment from the user.
Battle Clone (Attack): Has your attack stat -5
Decoy Clone (Defense): Has your health stat -6, will be targeted by enemies
Shadow Clone (Agility): Clone has your agility +10, but only has 5 Health.

Timeslow: At lvl 1 timeslow slows 2 posts, lvl 2 timeslow 3 posts, lvl 3 timeslow 5 posts.
Crimson Pact (Attack): During the slowed time your attacks do X% more damage (Where X is your level times 10) but you take 20% recoil.
Stall (Defense): You may sacrifice Health to expand the duration of the slowed time by 1 post for each 5 Health sacrificed.
Hourglass (Agility): Your speed is increased by X% for the duration of the slowed time, where X is your level times 10. (@Rainbow Dash Ketchum made the sub abilities)

At level 10 you gain 3 skills:

Critical Hit (If these aren’t already part of battles) (Attack): When you attack, there is a 2% chance that you land a critical hit, doubling the damage you do. This chance increases by 2% each time you gain 10 levels, maxing out at 20%.

Counter (Defense): When you are attacked, there is a 2% chance you counter after being hit, making the attacker take as much damage as you just did. This chance increases by 2% each time you gain 10 levels, maxing out at 20%.

Dodge (Agility): When you are attacked, there is a 2% chance you dodge and do not take damage. This chance increases by 2% each time you gain 10 levels, maxing out at 20%.

RP Rules:
1. Please do not godmod, or make a Mary Sue character, this makes the roleplay unenjoyable and uninteresting.
2. Remember to be nice!
3. Please use ooc when not roleplaying by using something specifying that you are ooc, like brackets. ()
4. You can also form groups with other characters.

This world is a mix of fantasy and sci-fi. All the buildings are medieval fantasy looking, but there are like hovercrafts and stuff.

5256 years ago, there was the first technological advancement, a material called 'protosteel' was found which allowed creation of matter in a specific location. This material was the first step to creating energy weapons. The weapons were useful as there were aggressive monsters in existence, which were hard to kill with weapons, a group was formed to slay these beasts once the protosteel was found. Once a person turns 15 years old, they are allowed to join the group, and get an energy weapon.

There are 3 main cities: Emburn, Cavernberry, and Oaklen. Emburn is the biggest city, it has the primary Guild base, has the most shops, protosteel mines, and the Altar. You start in Emburn and go to the Altar to get your weapon. There is 2 main forests: Woodmouth, and Seedland. Woodmouth is seen as sacred lands, and Seedland as cursed. In every city and town, there are banks where you can store items if your inventory is full. The area around the forests and towns is the badlands, monsters live in the badlands, and many outlaws also live there, the badlands have many ruins. There are 2 lakes, Purelight and Sunwater.

Heads up, available for help. You probably could make timestop slow the time, more slowdown the bigger is experience too. Also, clones. They could use maybe a bigger fraction of power rather than more of them. Dashing seems the least useful of the trio, considering you can timestop sprint and you get the same effect.

Also, you may restrict the races to humanoid ones maybe, not sure how the hay would a dragon wield an energy weapon.

A general fair play rules like no godmodding and having users act nice to each other OOC should also be done, maybe as the reminder.

Good ideas, thanks!

Also, a few more tips. First off, try to expand on why would a character get said weapon in a backstory. Make a sort of interesting enough premise.

From my own experience, unless you want to use your GMPCs narratively like other people, or your roleplay is a freeform, a GMPC should be done sparingly, maybe to advance the storyline if you get frustrated no one is doing so.

You might give an Extras tab so the other info can get written (eg. backstories or battle themes).

It's also useful if you keep an eye on current PCs that have signed up, via spoiler or dedicated list.

For example, you have four people playing as seven characters. For ease of sight who does which character, group them by a roleplayer playing them.

A word of warning - never make enemies too easy, too hard, too complicated or too bland (first two can be skipped if the group curbstomps them anyway/if you want an unwinnable fight). Doing so might make encounters too boring or too frustrating.

So uh, I might join this.
What's the character limit? I don't have many 15 year old characters, but there's 2 I'm considering.

Oh, I'm an idiot again. Cool!
kinda bummed out that I can't use someone like Raven, seems like Alaine and Bosque are really my only options here because everyone else already has a weapon...

Is this something where you can basically come up with anything yourself, so long as it's within reason anyway, or is there like a certain list it has to be picked from?
If there is, then it would probably be good to have the full list of what you can pick available for people.

You can make it up yourself if it's not ridiculous

This rp made me realize how little of my characters are 15...
It doesn't help that I can't use 2 of my options no matter what...

The only non-15 year old character whose age I'm willing to change is Minol, who is usually a spirit due to a past event, but I could make an alternate version where that event didn't occur so he's human
