Switch Netendo research bug

I played terraria on a ps4 and had custom controls which worked fine but I copied them on my netendo switch and I put x as my research button, so my problem is that everytime I try and open up the inventory and press x nothing happens.

Is the inventory still bound to X?

Is the inventory still bound to X?

Yes but I changed both to see if it would work and still nothing happened
