i found on my way to hell and almost didnt see it. devs explain.

The Halloween and Christmas events are not announced or activated by the developers. They're simply turned on/off based on your system clock (which also means you can turn them on any time you like).

If you haven't experienced Terraria during Halloween yet, you will also see pumpkins growing quite often and enemies dropping goodie bags. Although I just sell all of them for a good bit of money lol
