    Yes ole molos, tis overkill, but the abiliy to create gifs with ease is so helpful.

    Plus I’m too lazy to switch programs

    GIMP is overcomplicated IMO. Paint.net is slightly more advanced than MS Paint, therfore it has a less new-user-friendly interface, but either work great for starting out spriting.

    I personally use Paint.net, because I don't feel like opening something in MS paint, then having to switch to another program for transparency.
