    Just cheese him. That's what I did. Shiny Stone, defense beetle armor, and a Solar Eruption from inside a small room with some heart statues and honey works really well. You should also throw in any potions that increase survivability and/or damage.

    The shiny stone won't do anything while you're using a weapon as far as I know. Anyhow, what I did to beat him was to use a tank style setup, I had blocks for preventing his eye laser from hitting me and I spammed daybreaks.
