    Well, not directly. My username was taken from the POP-Station game 'Chanticleer Hegemony', which was featured on a review by Stuart Ashen. It is highly likely, however, that the word 'chanticleer', meaning 'rooster', entered the English language in much the same way as the word 'renard', meaning fox, entered the French language, i.e. through the story that you're probably thinking of, titled 'Reinaert de Vos'.
