If you were wondering how many classified military documents have been released to War thunder, it's 16.

Why do you have the same favorite movie as my mom
"I ain't the Slime God, what did you expect?" has lead me to add "I am the Slime God, what did you expect?" to my description so danke
You were uh...not following me earlier?
So. Talked to the Recruiter. Turns out having an ego gets you disqualified.
    ... Just kidding!

It went swimmingly. Autism is not an automatic disqualifier, I'm... Uhh... 10 pounds under the weight minimum.... With a waiver...
I got a full timeline of my service until I become qualified, so now I have that.

I'm definitely leaning towards the Marine Corps for this. Their guaranteed pilot slot is definitely enticing...

    congratulations /gen

i'm curious about the minimum weight limit thing though... why exactly would weight reduction bro be a problem?
(keep in mind i am biased and may not see the problem, because i myself am a bit underweight (~57kg ≈ 126 lbs, with a height of ~175cm ≈ 5'9" and my age of 17 that is a BMI of ~18.6))

I'm 119 pounds at 17. You need to be a minimum of like ~130

yes, i get that, i'm asking why one needs to be a minimum of 130 lbs (59 kg so i don't have to convert for myself in the future)
I'm talking to a Marine recruiter shortly.
The guaranteed pilot slot... It could be mine...

I'll be gone for probably 45 minutes.
    Hey there young ones
    I'm old now
If any of you need some training from a master, I'll be here, heheheh.
    Makin me proud.
... Not the military part, the rope part.
Did you know that I am now your most devout supporter, I practice Ropism
    :red: IT.
I'm watching Dragon Ball. All of them.
I've just learned of the Platoon Leaders Course, a summer program for undergrad college students who want to be a Marine Corps Officer.
    Now, you may be wondering...
"But Gabe, you were going to join the Air Force, it's your whole shtick!"
    That's the thing...
    If I do it right...
I get a guaranteed pilot slot!

The Marines fly more than any other branch too!
    Best part?
Imagine the bragging rights if I could say I was a Marine!
enjoy your four day weekend, ig (cries in 3 day weekend without Monday off)

    Everyone's favorite military nerd <3
hey, i've been wanting to show you something

in F-Zero GX, that scifi racing game i keep yapping about and constantly say how peak it is, there is a vehicle — the Rainbow Phoenix — that's basically an F-14
    IMG_1652.gif

it even has working variable geometry wings, and is one of two machines that have animated parts in-game, though it works opposite to how it should: in normal driving it stays swept back, when boosting it moves to the forward position
not only that, it's decently competitive and really nice to drive, it has insanely good "grip" when racing and sounds more like a jet compared to the other machines in the game

Reminded that in Redout 2, there's a vehicle that does extend out some wings when Turbo Boosting. My theory is that it's so the vehicle doesn't literally go flying out of control and crash out. So, intentionally producing drag to better manage speed. There likely is a precedent for that in the lore considering one of the other racing teams, Sulha AGR, had a vehicle whose thrusters were so powerful that they once decoupled from the vehicle's cockpit and rocketed off, leaving the cockpit and a very confused pilot behind.

I THINK it's Lunare Scuderia's racer that does that.

@Techhunter_Talon that's pretty epic ngl, i've heard a lot of praise about Redout but haven't bothered to look into it yet

@Jet-Powered Rope God🌳 what's crazy is that the guy driving this, (possibly coincidentally) named Phoenix, is a time traveler. dude could've easily just went back to the past, picked up some random F-14 laying around, and then modified it to make it into his racing machine
