Devices can turn on and off with wires. I feel like terraria missing an item that does the same thing to wires.
There should be range weapon that doesn't consume ammo in early game.Right now I used sword often than bows.

Don't say you hate wood,stone,stone brick,dirt etc. walls. because it's ugly. Try it combine with other walls that you like or paint.
