    The only problem the original nes had was the fact that gravity would pull down on the cartridge and it would slowly pry the contacts apart over prolonged use of putting carts in, playing them, pulling carts out, etc. That's why a lot of times you'd get improper contacts and had to pull the thing out and reseat it, and any little bump in the object it was setting on would cause the game to blank out.

    So if you take the thing apart, and squeeze the cartridge socket, and put it back togehter, it'd work nice for awhile then it'd happen again.... and again....
