I have the disc for xbox 1 version and i just bought the digital version it just wont update

So glad that my game wont update it really makes me want to keep playing this game since you know i had the disc version and thought that was the problem so i bought the digital version and it still wont update on my xbox one s

So i have a disc and i was trying to play 1.3 but it wont install do i need to buy the game digitally. And by that i mean is it cause i own a disc
