    Generally there are youtubers that will make videos about upcoming content that has been spoiled where they provide their own theories. It doesn't mean that they have access to the content though. ->

    There are a few Streamers such as Pedguin that have gotten to play the update early in a few specific cases. Mainly when the 1.3 update was released for PC, a couple streamers streamed the game a day before the release back then.

    I see it too much of a game-changing mechanic. It's require a huge lot to balance that out. So maybe some of these mechanics are better left 'optional' as a mod.

    well, that mod has balance function, so it almost ready to inserted in game, I guess. Or just like with seed thingy. Make a switch for it

    @ppowersteef is correct here - dual wielding is partly a mod for the purpose of maintaining Terraria's experience as it is without causing huge changes - and also partly because Terraria was never designed to handle dual wielding, so the mod itself is imperfect and contains bugs that cannot / will not be fixed. (which would also require massive changes)
