Get at least platinum or gold armour
Then gather the materials for any staff for mage or any gun for ranger (preferably the undertaker)
Get the Finch staff for summoner and a whip (any will do)
For melee use a rotted fork for its knockback to keep slimes at bay.
Make an arena for it then get Hermes boots (or any of its upgrades)
Run in a straight line use your weapon of choice and when you inevitably get to the end of the arena just duck or jump above or below him
There big blob of gelatinous gel is no more.
