Let me explain. Rangers at the moment are supposed to be the class that stands in the back dealing the main DPS in a team, or a lot of DPS on its own. In exchange they have reduced survivability and greatly reduced mobility, but currently rangers are highly outclassed by mages in terms of DPS.

Not due to spectre armour, but due to somewhat OP weapons like the blizzard staff. This renders them, in my opinion, somewhat obsolete.
