Some game designers try to make their games lean on narrative instead of mechanics.

As you can see, it usually doesn't work.

I think the only deep, provoking narrative you could get out of this is asking yourself why you bought it in the first place.

Although this one doesn't even pretend to have anything even resembling mechanics.

Thanks to engines, anyone can create a game nowadays.

That doesn't necessarily mean we should.

RPGmaker games at least almost always turn out to be fairly good looking, if you like pixel graphics.
But all these assets are pre supplied ones or from other games, so thats no surpise...

Art in itself never made a good game. Neither did narrative.

The whole reason we play games is because they're interactive. I don't want to play a game that's essentially an art book or novel in which the mechanics merely serve to turn the page, so to speak.
