My hand is fine now, but for some strange reason it stinks.

Most likely due to the minor tissue damage or the smoke. Don't worry too much about it. Have the wound treated with water and sterilzation so it won't infect. The biggest worry of yours should be any kind of infection, so avoid getting the hand dirty.
