My reaction to something like that happening to me: Step 1. Decide if it`s worth it, Step 2. Exit without saving, Step 3. Load last save. I don`t use autosave in most games because of stuff like that.

I had been working on a nearby build at the time and had saved multiple times before realising the god tree was burnt to a crisp

otherwise I would have done that immediately...heck I tried anyway just to make sure

And thats why I make backup`s of earlier saves if I have that as an option.

ill keep that in mid for next time thnx

I don't use autosave in minecraft because it is laggy as hell
