No, it became awful when they first removed the tiers, then the Megabots, and the Epic Loot update is commonly called Epic Fail.

I couldn't get to play anymore without getting salty, Currently stopped spending more time in the waiting queue and have been doing something more productive.

If you want a salt-free building game, play Machinecraft, also free like RC, came out in 2012 and got to steam in march 2016, there, you have no limitations, just look at the workshop, there are many beautiful machines to get started from by dismantling them.

Hearing it like this makes me wonder why Robocraft ended up been a combat game with limitations on building and creativity.
