Everytime I see this people are trying to launch from somewhere other than the steam install directory.

Forgive me I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to modding, where is the steam install directory?

The default is C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Terraria, but you can right click->properties and there is an option to open the game files there if you install in a different place.
