I'm pretty sure Terraria is way more reliant on your processor than your videocard sadly. Especially with mods, even if you had the highest quality videocard it will still chug with a shoddy processor.

I did see it as that too, but it's just with all of the modded weapons and bosses that like to shoot trough everything while lighting up all the tiles; causing it to spasm out. It's not a great feature when you got other mods doing the same thing, and can't simply disable the light that emits from items or enemies.

Multiplayer can also make it worse with what I have played with before. Non-modded bosses were decent, then the modded bosses past moonlord just creates lights EVERYWHERE, making my FPS at 2-3.
