As for the part about God being everywhere you have to understand that he isn't of this world, he doesn't have a body like the rest of us. He knows everything and is all powerful, and if you think about it if you knew everything it would be like you were everywhere. So he's not actually everywhere, though we can feel his presence though the Holy Spirit.

Also if God were in fact just the universe, wouldn't it be weird if the universe came to live in the universe to teach the universe about the universe?

Well, the best we can all do is follow what we feel is right, there's no way to tell who, if anyone, will great you after death. I was just trying to explain why God (as a being) isn't a dictator, more of a judge.
Surely I was sinful at birth, sinful from the time my mother conceived me. Psalms 51:5
Diligent hands will rule, but laziness ends in forced labour. Proverbs 12:24

I live a very humble life, and I'm fine with that. I don't want the stresses and the needless complication that other people have in their lives. Mine's nice and simple and I'd rather it stay that way.

I'd be more than fine living a simple life as long as it was sufficient enough for me to live without fear of starvation. All those "deserved" and "awesome" things more often than not mean more responsibility than some people can bear in the longer run and even then, those who are in high positions and earn a lot money, find themselves so busy they can't really think of living a healthy life.

But nothing is truly deserved, only earned, the most we really need to live our lives is food, a place to sleep, decent job ( including self employment ) and happiness ( which can be religion for some ), the rest is a burden holding a small reward in the end of it. And pride is only good in small doses when it becomes confidence.
I was on Imgur a few days ago and ran into some people who were clearly atheists. When I said "I think science should be taught objectively and creationism and evolution should be taught together in schools as theories, they basically said "You're wrong" and offered no evidence to prove that I was. This world is a sorry place for we Christians.

Christianity never instructed anybody to kill anybody, in fact, Jesus said the opposite. The only Christians who did kill for the faith, Catholics (during the Crusades), have since repented and admitted they were wrong.

Now one *could* make an argument that God ordered the complete extermination of everybody in what would be Israel back in the day, but that was to Jews, and that was before Christianity came about, so that isn't really fair to apply that to Christians.

"Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them. For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world." 1 John 2:15-16

I just post the daily verse at biblegateway.com and try to see if it sort of matches your verse.
