It is (or was based on preference) one of the biggest titles in shonen anime. Pokemon is without a doubt an anime.

I'd say early Pokémon yes, the more recent stuff not really. Maybe that's just unfortunate localization, but around the Diamond/Pearl era is when the show started feeling different

I don't really get how something can "feel" like an anime. Anime are just Japanese cartoons, and since the Pokemon anime is animated by people in Japan, therefore it's an anime. It's simple.

I guess the art style yes, but the writing became more and more Americanized imo. More so than the original dubs
