I don't know, just the idea of that as an actual profession, trying to guess when things began, when things were created, the rise and fall of things long past, and assuming our species isn't dead in enough time for it to be relevant, it'll be like an unimaginably large library with little to no direction, just information out there somewhere waiting to be found.

While a lot would just be lost once the forum's servers go down, you can almost certainly guarantee a place in history if you do something profoundly wonderful, terrible, or stupid.

Well, a place in history until you're forgotten. I think that, in time, everyone gets forgotten. Not what we did, because no matter how small, there will always be some change that we brought about that effects the universe forever, but instead the memory of who did it eventually fades away.
