Having a very long bridge through the Underworld is a good thing to have. If you made one in a Normal Mode World previously, I'd recommend making it 3 times as long, at least 3,000 blocks long. The WoF will advance much faster in Expert Mode.

Good weapons to have include the Hellwing Bow, Phoenix Blaster, and Demon Scythe also.

Or use Beenades. Nothing can go wrong with Beenades. At least as long as you don't spam them every half a second.

Beenades, spam them on a hellbridge while running away, gather lots of them, trust me it works lol.
