Seems like something that would happen if you went too far away from her. I've had the same happen with Skeletron Prime, except they just descend to hell and never come back.

I don't know if you need to be in the Jungle to fight her, but if you do, that might also be the cause.

Pretty sure you can fight QB outside the jungle/beehive, maybe I might have gone too far from her? I honestly don't know, in my screen she wasn't that far she just straight up ascended to the heavens and never returned. lol

Queen Bee can be fought outside of the jungle with no consequences, but yeah she might've left because you were too far away or something.

Regardless I'm pretty sure what you described happens when you fail to meet some sort of fighting criteria. Could be just a bug.
