I slew Nazeem with a plain wooden sword for that after I installed a mod to make him respawn.

I never killed Nazeem even once. In fact, a mod I installed made him far less annoying because it made it where NPCs don't say their 'greeting' dialogue when you approach/walk by them unless you talk to them (excluding Merchant NPCs, who have every right to flag down your attention).
