It could be that the forums think you've seen the thread, but that you didn't officially go to the end of the thread, so it's not going to give you more notifications of it. At the top of the page, under "Forums", choose "Watched threads". Go to any thread that is bold - that means that there is new content there you haven't seen. cont'd...

Once you've gone to the end of the thread, you should start getting alerts for it again. You'd need to do this for each thread that you think you're not getting an alert for.
