You encounter those quite regularly where I live, along with generic birds and lizards. You occasionally see a snake or hear a coyote sometimes, too.

I'm a bit of an idiot when it comes to stuff like this, because I live up north where we don't have scorpions, but some are venomous, correct? Was the one you were stung by venomous?
