What's up with these horrible emoticons? I can't even see what kind of face the Guide is trying to make - it's just a skin-colored blob 0.o

Most of the emoticons are blobs.

Good thing an image of a slime would describe most of the emotions I have perfectly.

These emoticons are horrible, indeed. I never use them for a good reason.

How do you make custom emoticons...?

You can ask people (I think Jestex has a thread for it?) to make them for you or pixel them yourself - then you can simply use [ img]linktoyourcustomemotehere[ /img] (without the spaces) and it'll look just like a normal emote.
