I think especially with higher difficulties you just have to be a lot slower and more meticulous about your expeditions. Taking extra care to not run along and die from what is normally small damage sources is difficult because you have to retrain yourself in very small habit you play the game...

if your using mods there might be something interfering but we cant know for sure unless you tell us what mods you are using as well as how you killed her. if you need to get inside of the jungle temple you can always use a hoik but if there are other modded bosses in your way I have no idea.
