⦉ Sky Walls ⦊
'A piece of the sky'
Assorted @ Sky Mill
Sky Walls display the backgrounds of their corresponding biomes. There are 13 types of Sky Wall: one for each of the surface biomes and one for the Underworld. They act like actual backgrounds with animated elements and parallax (though I'm not sure how that would work from a technical standpoint). The background variant that these walls show depends on the paint applied. For example, Teal Paint is the 6th paint according to the wiki, and when it is applied to a Sky Wall, it changes the background to what the wiki considers the 6th variant of that biome's background. However, if Teal Paint was applied to a Sky Wall whose corresponding biome has fewer than 6 variants, nothing would change. Unpainted Sky Walls always show the 1st variant.
The materials to craft each Sky Wall are listed below:
Here is an example of what it would look like in action:

This is a really fascinating idea, I haven't seen anything like it. I wanna say it might be too crazy of a suggestion, but ironically I'm kind of crazy about it myself...?! Anyways, support!
Question: would these backgrounds produce light, and would they be affected by the day/night cycle? Could you "freeze" a sky wall to a specific time?

This is a cool and interesting concept!
Perhaps an alternate way to change the variants could be throwing a World Globe onto a surface within the boundaries of the targeted sky walls. It would be the quicker, blanket option, with paint being the slower, more precise option.

I'm very aware lol

Yes, they would produce light and are affected by time. To freeze time, you would use a Time Monolith from this suggestion I made

I considered using World Globes, but I was worried about them changing the actual, not-wall backgrounds as well. Your idea could work though. Or maybe the World Globe would change only the walls that the player is in front of
