First 1.3 theory that wasn't absurdly farfetched

Where did this image come from? Could someone please tell me?

That is one big moon.

This is what i have been thinking the whole time!

That is one big moon.

I still think that's not the moon, but the first world ("Earth") you're usually on. Now, there is a crater present, but then meteors do actually land on "Earth" during the course of the game, so that isn't too far-fetched.

Compare the pic in the OP to any pic taken from the moon. Note the size of the Earth in the Moon's skyline.

It is very similar.

It's bluish whiteish, it's the moon.

Or maybe it's the moon. Because, you know, the new event is called the "Lunar" event.

Nothing saying that a "Lunar" event cannot be held on the moon itself, and not every moon has to be lifeless (this one obviously is not, since it has actual aliens and things living on it that come and attack us).

Cenx (I assume that was Cenx?) in the above screenshot mentions that you summon an event where these guys attack your buildings and your NPCs that you have to fend off, "until the final showdown has been revealed".

Either you kill off waves and waves and waves of aliens until they decide to just stop sending them, or, you could go there and destroy the source of them. It'd be an awesome idea, and the fact that the "moon" is so huge in the screen unlike before, I dunno.

*shrugs*

That's my opinion on it.

It's obviously in progress in the picture, and it's obviously on your normal world in a forest biome near the beach, so I doubt it's ON the moon.

You DO realize that screenshot was an April Fools joke, right?

It is..?

Well,

1). It ain't April (so that means it musta been last year, which leads to #2).
2). No dates were posted anywhere on the screenshot, nor links.

So that was kinda hard to determine from the screenshot as posted in this thread, so meh. Wish people would stop posting crap like that in a speculation thread.

Im pretty sure that giant planet is the moon itself and yes, there is a green moon variant.

You understand, thank god XD No head of Cthulhu. No ocean stuff. It is LUNAR update. They've blatantly told us this, and they've also told us "NO MORE CTHULHU!" so quit badgering at that topic :P It's not gonna happen.

That post was/was not april fools, mainly, partial information of that news about 1.2 was an April Fools Joke. Most people thought that the Duke Fishron part was the fool, but in fact, it was the other way around because of the movie Sharknado I think people thought Re-Logic could not add this to terraria due to copyright infringement. So I take it, people assumed the Conch of Fish was the actually new content for 1.2. That later turns out to be wrong and it was Duke Fishron, why? Cause no one took the consideration of that well artwork of the boss that was posted!

I like all the theories on this, but no, Conch of Fish is not happening. Those squids are aliens, those worms, are aliens, that giant worm thing, is an alien of some sort. Their true form will be revealed in the release date, or...possible next spoiler. Either way, I am looking forward to seeing the final explosion of 1.3 and its future.

To be honest I think you are over analyzing. It's okay to speculate but you're stretching this pretty far.

Its a bit too far fetched. Your kinda stretching the limits.

To be fair the reason you couldn't see a single block of sand is because the ocean is a fixed point in the map, much like space and the underworld. It's also extremely common for forest biomes to neighbor the ocean biome and share its background.
Being in an ocean biome has nothing to do with sand at all.

That, to me, is not a big hint. Rather, it's more of an overanalysis.

Second, a few pixels of similarity makes the assumption rather loose. Basing ideas on silhouettes are very unstable. If you look closely it could even be humanoids with Dr. Robotnik's mustache.

Yes, that 'thing' looks like a tentacle head. But tentacles are not exclusive to aquatic life, nor is a floating head exclusive to Cthulhu. Mind you, his eye and brain exceed this thing's size proportions. Again, this falls under the silhouette assumption. Yes, it does look a lot like an ocean cthulhu face tentacle thing. But that's not to say it does look a damn lot like other things.

It's a good speculation, and I'll have to credit you for that though. But still, I'll have to disagree!

Props to @Baconfry for the... other things.
