Game Mechanics A list of suggestions that I think would be pretty nice if they were implemented.

After going for some playthroughs both solo and with friends in recent times, I have racked up quite a list of suggestions. I have no clue what's been confirmed or not for 1.4.5, but I will be putting them here just in case they weren't. With that, here's my list of suggestions for the game:

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

+ Have it so that the Bottomless Honey Bucket can be thrown into shimmer to get the Honey Absorbant Sponge, it's very inconvenient when I get two of the same and I can't transmute them into the other. We can already do this with the fishing accessories, so it would be really convenient to also be able to do this with these items.

+ Just like how you can combine the 3 sponges (water, lava and honey) into an Ultra Absorbant Sponge which can absorb all liquids while also granting a minor range buff, it would be awesome if there was a way to combine all of the current bottomless buckets into one. It could have a Grand Design style interface when you right click where you would be able to change the liquid it would pour (the +1 range bonus would also be nice)

+ Speaking of Grand Design, the Shellphone should also have a similar interface where you can select the location you want to teleport to. Not only would it be better as you wouldn't have to keep right clicking until you get the location you wanna teleport to, but it would also prevent you from switching locations unintentionally, like when you do a quick teleport to talk to a NPC but you miss-click with the Shellphone equipped in the hotbar.

+ Give the Hotline Fishing Hook another use. It's just about useless when I get it since I often already have the Golden Fishing Rod with the Lavaproof Fishing Hook or the Lavaproof Tackle Bag by the time I obtain it. Maybe it could be changed into being more common and obtainable pre-hardmode, or be able to combine it with the Golden Fishing Rod to make an even better fishing pole with higher fishing power that can fish in lava without lava bait or accessories.

+ Include the Toolbox sold by the Goblin Tinkerer into the recipe for the Hand of Creation, as it stands right now the Toolbox isn't very good and often overlooked.

+ Add a Enchanted Sundial styled item where you are able to control the weather. You would only be able to use it once per in-game week, and you would be able to choose to have any weather you wanted for an entire day/night.

+ Add a configurable keybind to quick stack to nearby chests without having to open the inventory. I mean why not?

+ Add a building armor set, which would boost placement speed, as well as tile placement range and anything building related. It would also be cool if they could be combined with the mining armor set for a sort of "creative" armor set, but I'm not sure how reasonable that would be.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have more suggestions that I came up while playing, but I don't wanna make this post way bigger than it needs to be, so I will say them in a separate post. What do you guys think?
(I promise the next post won't have a lot of fishing related suggestions)

Toolbox or tool belt?

Maybe someþing based on a generic construction worker's outfit?

I þink i heard somewhere ðat we don't have more Grand Design style items because it was a huge pain to code, so don't get your hopes up on ðese.

This is a good idea. I support it.

Like InigoGollum said, the Grand Design was very difficult to code and get working properly, and the devs are not keen to try it again. The Shellphone doesn't have this function for that exact reason. It's very unlikely that we'll get another item that functions like it.
+ Give the Hotline Fishing Hook another use. It's just about useless when I get it since I often already have the Golden Fishing Rod with the Lavaproof Fishing Hook or the Lavaproof Tackle Bag by the time I obtain it. Technically speaking, the Hotline Fishing Hook does have a use. Stacking lava fishing items speeds up lava fishing massively, and choosing the Hotline Fishing Hook over the Golden Fishing Rod when lava fishing is a good idea. Whether or not this use is good enough for you depends on how much you value lava fishing. I don't much like the idea of adding another fishing rod upgrade that requires the Hotline Fishing Hook since that rod can be so difficult to obtain, but making it a little more common probably wouldn't go amiss.
+ Include the Toolbox sold by the Goblin Tinkerer into the recipe for the Hand of Creation, as it stands right now the Toolbox isn't very good and often overlooked.
I think you mean the Toolbelt. Personally I don't know if this is necessary... if you're doing a major building project, you'll be wanting to stack as much block reach as possible, so you'll be wearing this every time. This item can't be called overlooked with that logic.
+ Add a Enchanted Sundial styled item where you are able to control the weather. You would only be able to use it once per in-game week, and you would be able to choose to have any weather you wanted for an entire day/night.
How would you get it? How would it function?

You could similarly ask why. I mean, it takes all of one second to open your inventory and click the quick-stack button... and this method prevents you from accidentally quick-stacking your items away when you don't want to. I'm not saying this is a bad idea; it's totally fine. I just don't think it solves a problem in the way you think it does.

How would you want it to be obtained? What specifically are its stats?

I have no idea how to use text formatting so forgive me if this looks bad.

This is news to me, but if that is the case then I don't think it's a deal breaker, I just find it mildly annoying when I accidentally switch the Shellphone's teleport location (plus the Grand Design UI looks cool)

I have heard of this and even tried fact checking with the wiki, but I never found convincing evidence of this. If it's true then scrap this suggestion, though you will have already obtained most (or all) items that are only obtainable through fishing in lava by the time you get the Hotline Fishing Hook, hence why the suggestion.

I did mean the Toolbelt yeah. Since the Hand of Creation is meant to be the combination of all building and "QoL" accessories into one, I don't see why they wouldn't include the Toolbelt into it, plus it would free an accessory slot.

How would you get it? How would it function?
Since the Sundial is a rare drop from crates, it could either also be a rare drop, a craftable upgrade locked behind some progression or obtainable by throwing into shimmer (would cycle between Moondial and the weather variant). It would function identically to a Sundial, would only be usable once every 7 in-game days and would glow faintly when usable. When you right-click on it, a popup would appear allowing you to select a weather condition such as rain, windy, etc... And upon selection a weather it would apply it to the world where it would last until the next day/night switch, so if you were to use it at 1 PM, it would last until 7:30 PM, and if you were to use it at 10 pm, it would last until 4:30 AM.

Think about it like this, like a Pumpkin Moon event where you reached the last wave and drops are flooding, you already got some chests with at least one of each item inside of them so that you can simply quick stack every time your inventory got full. Considering how many mini-bosses spawn, having to open the inventory and find your mouse's way to the quick stack button while also dodging could very well get you killed. It's not a must-have, but since the game is getting tons of quality of life changes and additions, I figured this would also be good to have.

How would you want it to be obtained? What specifically are its stats?
I didn't really think about this, but I think it would make sense if it was crafted instead of being an uncommon drop like the mining set. The building armor set stats would be a minor increase to defense, a 10% increase in placing speed (blocks and walls) per armor piece for a total of 30%, and as a set bonus either a +1 or +2 additional tile placement range. The "creative" armor set would have the stats from both the mining and building set, with a set bonus of lowering mob spawn rates similar to the angler set.

Thanks for the feedback guys, love y'all!
