I wanted to take a moment to express appreciation for Re-Logic and their attention to detail.
Terraria is among a dying breed of games which is dwindling down to an alarmingly small number of games, that allows Maximized Window Mode.
What is Maximized Window Mode?
Simple, you window the game and the center of the 3 buttons on the top-right is NOT greyed out, allowing you to expand the window to fill the entire desktop except the taskbar. This is a function that has existed in Windows since Windows 95, and most non-game programs allow this, anything from browsers to word processors, excel, pretty much anything you can think of. But for some stupid reasons, many games today disable the button. 27 years later, we have programs coming out that won't let you use a 27 year old OS feature.
Why would I want to do this?
Simple. I use messenger programs (including a telnet-compatible MU*) and I need to see the taskbar to know when activity happens and I don't wish to set up audio notifications because I might not hear it during the thick of battle or some-such, or I'll hear it and think "I'll check it after this thing I'm doing" and then subsequently forget about it. With a flashing taskbar button, it will flash until I check it.
Terraria is among some of the few games that do that these days. Everybody else wants you to take up the entire screen, or put the game in a tiny window with lots of unused space and it's annoying AF.
Yes, I know there's an app out there called Borderless Window Gaming but I hate having to start and run a third party app JUST to do what the game SHOULD do natively from the start.
So thank you, Relogic, for having this in Terraria all of these years. This $10 game can do what a lot of $50+ games cannot.
EDIT: Also, Terraria auto-pausing when the window loses focus is also Awesome AF.
