Hello Terraria support, and anyone who reads this. Feedback is appreciated.
I have already emailed Terraria support about this, but they have not responded since I asked quite a few days ago.
Quite some time ago, a friend introduced me and my sister to Terraria. I loved the game, and build a huge base. I never got very far though, that is, until another friend came along and helped me and my sister out, and got us into hardmode. My very first world was made on an old version, with weird generation. This world is what I am inquiring about.
I have a old Ipad. I do not know what I0S it runs, as it will not tell me, and it cannot update it anymore. it does NOT have the files app.
I have an old world on that app that I love. I cannot play Terraria anymore due to lag, and the game kicking me out when I try to go more than a few steps. I would love to have this world back on my computer, and I know it is possible to transfer worlds, as least with newer devices.
So here is my ask. If anyone knows how this might be possible, to move this old world from my Ipad to my computer, it would make me eternally grateful. All I can see on my computer when imy Ipad is hooked up are photos, and I cannot see anything in Icloud either.
World information:
The worlds name is Char. it was my first world, and with one of the updates, it messed up the date it was created, but I know it was a long time ago, at least from 2017 (thats when my earliest screenshot is from), when mobile terraria had a different format. My current characters name is Sunlord, and the update also erased my time data as well.
I had a mega base, with tons of chests and stacks of npc housing outside it. I had hallow and mushroom planted above ground, even though I was pre-hardmode in that world. The world was corruption, and there was a sky island very close to the ground over it. There was also a sky island that was just a house, and it was over the ocean. I do not know if i cleansed the corruption or not, as I cannot go far in the world without it kicking me out. there was also a random crimson alter there, even though the world was corruption.
I do not know if any of this helps. I do not care about the characters, or other worlds. this world is the only one I desperately miss.
If anyone knows anything, or has any ideas, please reach out to me. I am a bit despreate at this point, as I want that world back, and have already tried many things. Even if someone is able to show me how to un-update terraria to make it not laggy, and not kick me out, that would be fantastic. I would also be thrilled it I could move it to my phone. I just want to be able to play it again.
Thank you for any help you can provide,

Can you tell what version/build of the game is running on the iPad? That should be on the opening splash screen, bottom left.
If you were able to determine what version of iOS you were running, then you might be able to find 'jailbreaking' instructions on the Internet for that version, which might let you see the contents of the device better. This path also entails some risks, including possibly bricking your device, so you should take that into consideration before trying it.
World and player files are on your device - "we" cannot access your files or your cloud account. There is no central repository of player's data.
It's quite possible that even if you were able to recover your world file, it wouldn't work with modern versions of the game. If what you have is the old Codeglue version of the game (their name probably comes up in the game startup), then the formats are incompatible with today's versions, afaik.
Honestly, your best bet is to make a new world on your up-to-date device/computer, and rebuild your base from the screenshots you have.

It seems to be version 3.0.7.2, build 100257., last updated in 2019. The terraria, relogic and 505 logos come up on start up. I am very attached to my Ipad, so it do not think i am willing to risk it. I do not think it is codeglue, so it there anything I can do?
That seems to be an early DR Studios version, according to the wiki.
If your iOS version/device is of a vintage that can't be updated, I don't know what to tell you. Apple intentionally makes it difficult to access the data on their devices easily.
Can you connect to iCloud? There may be an option in-game to transfer worlds/players there, but I'm not really sure about that.
Perhaps this guide would be of some help to you?

Ah, I remember the old days of Terraria mobile too.
If you can access the world file, you will be able to solve the problem (even something like eMailing it to yourself). Please try to find out your iOS version, maybe in tips app or settings.
The iPad model no# is written on the back, and a quick internet search will find out what version it stops updating. From there, look up how to access app data (or something similar) on that version, then find the world and player files.
If all else fails, take lots of screenshots and try to mock it up in tEdit.
I absolutely understand the nostalgia of old worlds, I still have my second world and character (first of both were corrupted) and still keep those “tiny worlds”. Ah, the memories.
