NPCs & Enemies A post-plantera dungeon enemy too annoy the player and make loot more consistant

Certainly Someone

Terrarian
Name: Skeleton Channeler

Spawn Conditions: In dungeon (Dangerous dungeon walls), Plantera has been defeated

Stats: [IDK I'm bad at balancing. Something adjacent to the diabolists]

Appearance: Like the Diabolists and Necromancers but lacking the robes and with a lightning rod impaled into their skull, their bodies (or what's left) wreathed in electric discharges

Method of Attack: Fire a slow moving "Ball Lightning" projectile that bounces off walls and decays after 7~ish second of existing. The "Ball Lightning" is surrounded with a 5-block-radius circular aura around it. Remaining in the Aura for too long (2.7~ish seconds) applies the electrified debuff. Being hit by the "ball lightning" deals damage, destroys the projectile, and applies electrified.

Bestiary entry: "Some argue that the first proto-undead were reanimated using lightning. While this bone mage has modified itself to weaponize such an element, it was not actual created via such means. This is because it is both impossible for lightning to reach the depths of the dungeon and we already know exactly what caused these bones to walk again, that being the age-old curse of the dungeon itself. Interestingly, it was not the madness of the dungeon that led to this undead having an awkward copper rod lodged in it's cranium, rather, whoever these bones belong to was simply off-the-deep-end to begin with."

Loot Pool: magnet sphere 5%
(seriously thought, why are the other mage weapons dropped by bone mages and this one isn't.)

The enemy's behavior sounds cool, and that's fine. I don't think the reason for adding it is necessarily great, though. The Magnet Sphere not dropping from a mage makes it the most accessible of the lot. Tying it to a mage would just make it harder to get. Also, where would it spawn? The existing mages are all tied to specific background walls, which is why there's only three of them. If this one spawns on all types of walls, what's the point?

Take one good look at redigit and tell me he doesn't want us to suffer.

Also by that logic you could come to the conclusion that the other dungeon bone mages should be removed and/or migrate their drops to the armored bone's loot pool to make the other mage weapons more accessible, but I digress.

Updated to specify spawn conditions. thanks for point that out 👍

He does when you're on the FTW seed, as long as it's in a funny way. This isn't quite the same, and I am concerned that this is what some people seem to think of him.
