Game Mechanics A tab that keeps track of your shimmer upgrades

Whenever I come back to a world after a while I often find myself forgetting my characters permanent upgrades such as the ones from the shimmer or the artisan loaf, a checklist tab next to your inventory for all the character upgrades that aren't immediately obvious (although if you wanted to add them for the sake of redundancies feel free)

Maybe a more simple option is simply the game banning the Shimmer Transmutation of the specific item if the player had already used that shimmer-upgrade

In other words, if you already did throw a Life Crystal into shimmer and used the upgrade item, the next time you throw a Life Crystal, the Life Crystal will remain unaffected by the Shimmer, for example

That’s still after you went out of your way to grab a life crystal and go to the shimmer.

I dunno, I feel like the dev team doesn't really implement enough of the QoL changes that are suggested... All of these ideas are kinda already merged in QoL mods/packs, so i think the dev team needs to ask the mod devs if they can just... Yoink the code...

Would you think to do that? That feels like an unnecessary thing to do if you can just add a small menu.
I personally don't lose track of which permanent upgrades I have. But I'm generally against any suggestion that can be achieved just as effectively by writing something down with pen and paper.

There are some upgrades that you spend actual hours trying to get, like the gummy worm or the galaxy pearl

Also I think that putting nine-ish pre existing jpegs in a non interactive menu is either as simple or even more simple than reprogramming that many items to not Transmutate on one player specifically

You could just... write it down...
You're so right king

You're so right in fact that we're going to apply that same logic to the rest of the game, for instance we should remove health bars, item stack numbers, mana bars and how many beastiary entries you've gotten because that's information we could just write down on a little post-it note

Maybe is intended to not add those QoL
They added torches and rope on platforms, decrafting, the ability to skip events and moons, the ability to quickly distribute your items amongst your chests, the ability to crystal skip in the old ones army, and they decreased the health of the pillar shields on repeat farms

All QoL, all added into the game after the initial release and most of them were present in community created mods

Make armor consumable, attach a number to it that you have to write down, make it not have a physical appearance, and make you put in the number to put on your armor.

That's a false equivalency. Certain pieces of information are crucial to playing the game and should not be withheld from the player. Many people, including you yourself, have called this suggestion QoL. It would be nice to have, but you don't need it. Don't pretend that having aa list of which Shimmer upgrades you have is anywhere close to as important to being able to see your health bar.

I'm not saying it's as important but they're mechanically similar

Idk why you're so weirdly against this idea it's just strange
