Hello! I came to think about how mannequins now will be able to hold items now. So, in that case: why not add mannequins that can be customized like players? It could fill up the empty houses in some of the player's settlements too! Maybe you could use some flesh blocks and a mannequin to craft it at an altar? Maybe you throw in a lens? Maybe a bone..? The crafting part is up to you, of course
Long story short; a more customizable version of the mannequin would be a builders dream come true!

so many of my towns and whatnot just feel so empty because there's a limited number of NPC's to work with (and some only work in certain situations/themes), so this would be so, so good for immersion

What exactly do you mean, "more customizable?" You mean a mannequin that looks like a player, instead of a wooden statue?

A mannequin that looks like a player instead of a wooden statue? Yes, that is what I meant. In short, you could click on a menu to show the configuration slides, buttons and such, as seen in the character creator. You could of course paste in settings as you can in the character creator too! Basically, everything is alike to the player creator, but perhaps without the page with naming and character difficulty selection (as these may not be as relevant for a player-like furniture item).

You could also keep it at only one variant as gender could be customized in these menus as well, but to be fair both gender versions as placeables would work too.
