Game Mechanics Accessory Slot Changes

I'm just going to screenshot a point I left on this back when it was a comment on Red's profile.

Skeletron is required for game progression. The Lunatic Cultist can't spawn otherwise (which is a lot later into the game, but the point still stands.)

Also, like everyone else said, doubling the accessory slots sounds like power creep. Terraria already gives you combinations to save slots; no need to double the amount.
I completely forgot that he prevented the Lunatic Cultist from spawning

I remember your comment and I originally opened my idea back up, I'm just trying to find a way to make build crafting possible without ruining our mobility
I do agree that mixing classes should still be allowed, but again, I was tryna put some sort of restriction on it to reduce the powercreep

Using the setup I provided, you're only really getting one extra damage-based accessory so our characters wouldn't actually be that more powerful
Plus, this is a better method than making a Wings accessory slot which gets suggested often
Because of the progression, you also don't even unlock the other slots until the endgame
The last slot is post-Moon Lord so if one extra damage accessory is that powerful then you at least wouldn't get it until you beat the game

Again though, there's probably a much better idea out there than this
I'm definitely not a game developer so I don't know how to make this properly balanced

If anyone could give input on how to improve this suggestion that I have while still upholding the sandbox then please do

I could just say that the emblem slot is just another class slot, and no longer differentiate between different classes
You could also replace the "Any Boss" part of my progression with specifically Skeletron

Vanilla has mounts, which have mobility as good, if not better, than boots and wings when combined with featherfall potion, and don't take up any slots.
Honestly they're the reason that I was never one who considered dedicated wing slot mods overpowered. They're just a way to buff wings to finally be as good as mounts.

Debatable, but I get your thinking.
Wings with a dedicated slot are equally good as mounts in most situations. This is the part we can debate, as it's subjective.

Wings that use a more important slot logically have to be worse than ones that use a dedicated slot due to opportunity cost being much higher. It's inconsistent to say otherwise. This is the part we cannot debate, as it's simply a fact of how the item works.

If both of these statements are true, mounts are overall better than wings in vanilla even if they couldn't replace other accessories in addition to them (and they often do).

I moreso mean personal preference. I personally find wings to be better than mounts.

Six entirely new accessory slots? At the risk of sounding rude... are you mad? Accessories are 1/3 of the game's power system. Giving all players six new slots to work with would utterly warp the game, and not in a good way.
