Weapons & Equip Add A Light Pet Item Similiar To The Minecart Upgrade Kit

Felt nice not to have to be confined to the mecha cart for peak perfomance (though this somewhat backfired because of things like the minecarp and devilcart becoming the best functional carts due to having bonus passives AND mecha speed now), would be great to also be able to mix and match different light pets into my fashion as well, instead of staying on the suspicious eye forever. I don't reckon pet vanity slots are much of a possibility due to how differently many of them behave and position themselves, but maybe adding a light pet upgrade consumable of some kind that boosts light intensity and adds treasure seeking to all light pets would be feasible?

Full support for consumable which increases light intensity.

However, I find revealing treasure with yellow sparks as more of an annoyance than a helpful feature. It doesn't differentiate between various types of treasure at all which makes it almost always obsolete by the time it is acquired.

This. I love the magic lantern and for me the sparkles don't matter much but I would love to have a brighter light while still keeping the lantern.

I don't know if it could fit this suggestion or should be a separate one. As the suggestion mentions addition of yellow sparkling effect along with increased light intensity, this would be related at least.

A limited spelunker potion effect could be added to all yellow sparkling treasure revealing things. Its intensity could fade with distance.
There are 3 pictures:
1. Current magic lantern sparkling.
2. Assumed view of new effect (edited image).
3. Regular spelunker potion effect.

So, yellow sparks are not completely useless but still do not obsolete spelunker potions.

The laser drone part of the mecha upgrade has an on/off toggle. Wink wink.

This isn't off topic, but it covers a feature tangentially related to said topic, and is actually a very good suggestion if implementable, so if I were you - I'd make a separate thread. Not because it has no place here, but because it's actually different and attention-worthy enough to warrant exposure through its own thread rather than being a footnote in this one.

Certainly not the first time that this has been suggested (the minecart upgrade kit opened the floodgates for a lot of [item] upgrade kits) but it's a good idea. I also agree with the comment saying that the treasure highlighting effect should be toggleable or not present.

Although there are still objectively better minecarts, their special advantages are situational enough that one can easily use another cart without losing out too much. The cart upgrade was a really good addition despite the minor balance flaw.

A suggestion I've seen (and made myself) a number of times is giving all vanity pets piggybank or safe access, to make them not completely outclassed by Chester. Although they move and behave in different ways, it seems simple enough to make them all act as storage if you click them, though I can't claim to know how much work it really would be.

Maybe it would be simplest if you could put another pet into the "dye" bracket and change the appearance of the pet. Kind of like vanity items to change the appearance of your armor. This way you could keep the features of the tentacle and change it to a fairy or whatever.
