(Black Hole gun does 45 damage, sucking people into it, and spitting them out. Similar to the nimbus rod, only 3 can exist at once)
(Chicken and horse move in after buying an item from Zoologist [similar to dog/cat/rabbit])

Terraria x Castle Crashers: Adds King NPC, as well as a new event, the Hoard, and a few new items and equipment.
King NPC: Can be told to walk somewhere on the map using a new NPC inventory button [unique to him], (although it may take a while, as he isn't the fastest, and if he can't get to that spot, he will unable to go there). He also has a button that teleports all NPCs to him for a short amount of time: 10 gold

The Hoard: An event that can be summoned by killing a troll that has a 1/100 chance of falling out of a tree (post Golem). The trolls are fairly buff, but don't do much damage. Once you kill it, the Hoard is summoned, where you have to break down three poles on random sides of the map and free the princesses trapped on them. Once you free all three princesses, the Hoard ends, and the King NPC is able to move in. The chance for the troll to spawn again afterwards is 1/200.

During the hoard: 7 new enemies, and 1 mini-boss (Not required to defeat, but the loot is worth it).
Fencer - Fairly weak, does a good amount of melee damage - Drops 4 silver - Spawns frequently
Necromancer - Strong, does a good amount damage. Flies towards you swinging its sword. - Drops 5 silver - Spawns every minute or so.
Stoveface - Strong, does a large amount of melee damage - Drops 5 silver - Spawns every minute or so
Thief - Fairly weak, does a good amount of ranged damage (shoots a bow) - Drops 3 silver and gold ingots - Spawns frequently
Barbarian - Strong, does a good amount of melee damage - Drops 4.5 silver - Spawns frequently
Beefy thief - Very Strong, does a lot of melee and ranged damage. Very slow. - Drops 7 silver, and arrows - Spawns every 50 enemies or so.
Barbarian Boss (Mini-boss) - Super Strong, does a whole lot of melee damage. Very Slow - Drops 10 gold and 1/3 chance to either drop the Falchion, Snakey Mace, or Evil sword, and always drops the Owlet egg - Spawns at every princess pole.

Falchion - A sword with short range that has fast swinging and does 30 damage
Snakey Mace - A melee weapon with medium range that has slow swinging and does 30 damage + inflicts cursed flames on contact
Evil Sword - A melee weapon with medium range that has medium swinging and does 35 damage, but the player is slowed by it
Owlet egg - Summons a pet owl that retrieves nearby coins and ammo for you.

Princess Pole: A pole with a tied princess at the top, break down the pole by hitting it (Considered an entity). 500 health.
The Hoard ends immediately once the three princesses are saved, but you receive none of the items from the bad guys. If you die 5 times, or everyone in your party dies at the same time, the hoard ends.

Knight Helmet - A helmet able to be dropped by the troll (1/10 chance), vanity item that can be dyed.
I have no sprites for any of this, so feel free to sprite it if you want

lot of stuff. I haven’t played Castle Crashers so I don’t have an opinion on that, but for UCH I have to mention that trying to code NPCs to spawn in a house of a specific material is likely not possible.
 
as a huge Terraria and Castle Crashers enjoyer (that stuff made my childhood man) I would be so down for a Terraria x Castle Crashers crossover to happen but some of the stuff you mentioned specifically about the King's mechanics and certain features of The Horde would definitely need to be fleshed out better, and the idea of adding the owl pet would bring back memories but from a code standpoint, kind of difficult to implement, but I feel like this would all be good stuff for a crossover, it's good concepts and would make an amazing and nostalgic crossover it just need a little bit more thinking. I would definitely support them doing this

I've been thinking, and maybe just having it that they can only move into houses in the forest biome? Is that possible to code?

Or, they can move in with an item bought from the Zoologist, similar to dogs/cats/rabbits, except you can actually buy things from them.
