Now Finally ported to 1.4.4. Find it on the Steam Workshop with the same name

Mage Class, a very flashy class that lets you cast Magic Staffs from your Staffs, Books, or even Magic Guns​

However, some may find some magic weapons a bit boring, like the Gem Staffs, a group of magic weapons made with ore bars and gems, except Amber Staff which it is made with fossils. And all of this Staffs do the same thing: Cast a single bolt, some staffs able to pierce and enemy

So...What if you could have Gem Staffs with new and different abilities?


Alternative Gem Staffs Mod is a small mod which aims to make Gem Staffs more unique

It does not add new Staffs, but changes the original Gem Staffs to have new stats, abilities, attacks and designs

  • Amethyst Staff: Shoots two small Crystals with short range that ignore 5 defense​

  • Topaz Staff: Casts a Topaz Bolt with infinite pierce, and you shoot faster the more you use it​

  • Sapphire Staff: When a bolt hits an enemy, Sapphires appear around you to protect you​

  • Emerald Staff: Shoots three bolts with random curved trajectory, and can create a Magic Field that increases your magic stats​

  • Ruby Staff: Casts a very fast bolt with an area of damage, and enemies killed releases Explosive Rubies​

  • Diamond Staff: Creates Small bolts that home into close enemies and hit three times​

  • Amber Staff: Summons Tomb Crawlers with limited life that target enemies​

  • Thunder Zapper: Bolt remains unchanged, but now creates a lightining bolt on hit that quickly zaps nearby enemies in chain

These all look pretty neat! But it's sad they are early prehardmode gear. Will you expand into staves made out of hardmode matierials? You have the talent to make unique projectile types.

Plans to create Hardmode versions of the staves are under consideration, since the main focus of this mod is only improve the staves from base game and be a small addition to early mage game
 
Þe new sprites look great. Have you considered releasing a texture pack þat just changes þat?

Þese look more powerful þan þe vanilla staves. Assuming þey are, are þey any harder to craft to make up for þis?

- Diamond Staff damage increased (14 -> 17)
- Crawlers (Amber Staff) now have an indicator that tells how much damage they took
- Sapphire Shield damage increased by 20%
- Amethyst Crystals fall slower

You'll need Terraria on Steam and tModLoader. You can find mods in tModLoader or download ðem from ðe tML mirror. If you do it in tML it'll automatically be put in ðe correct mod directory, or if you download mods manually you can put ðem in \Documents\My Games\Terraria\ModLoader\Mods. Don't forget to enable mods in tModLoader. Modders often don't boðer adding a link to ðe mirror site because ðey expect you to just use ðe normal mod browser in tML.

Finally ported to 1.4.4
A few small changes here and there, but the main thing is Thunder Zapper gets an additional feature: It now zaps nearby enemies quickly, might come in handy to deal extra damage to groups of enemies
