This is a new error for me, but this happened when I loaded a previous world in multiplayer to purchase some purification ammo for the clentaminator. As soon as I went to save and exit I got the error (mentioned as the title). Now I can't play any multiplayer world at all.

Maybe you ran out of PsPlus? That seems like that would happen in that case.
