PC Are there any known bugs or something that put the chances of you getting a certain item at below 0.0001%?

I've been farming Duke Fishron because I'm playing ranged and I need his bow to progress further in the game. The thing is, I've defeated him over 40 times and I got 0 Tsunamis. 0. I got all other items, including ones with a lower chance of coming compared to Tsunami's (wings came multiple times, 6.67% ; Tsunami = 20%). Chances of me losing 40 times >>in a row<< are 0.0001% and as I'm writing this it's getting even lower because I have not acquired my item. All other ones, the trophy, the mask, the wings: I've got them all, except my bow.

Nah bro that is Justin RNG, let’s say there is a 99% drop rate for an item you would say you would get it pretty much all the time, but really you would be wrong because of the RNG it literally mixes things up so yeah, the only time it is guaranteed is at 100%
Just RNG, really good luck, everyone has this problem with certain things.... quite literally when asking for one thing you never get IT lol

I think you mean .01%, not .00001%, since .8^40 = .0001 * 100 = .01%. Very different probabilities.

That aside, it’s not a bug. It‘s about a 1/10000 chance to not get a tsunami after 40 kills. You are that 1/10000. No number of kills will ever guarantee a drop. It sucks, but that’s RNG for you.

why did you multiply it by 100 at the end? isn't everything already in %s? .8 being 80% and 1 being 100%. So it's 80% (0.8) multiplied by itself 40 times and thats it

It’s not already in percentages, no. .8 is not the same as .8%, because .8% is a .008 probability. I used a % sign because you had used one, I could’ve also said that you meant .0001 and not .0001%.

You had said .0001% in the original post, which is not .0001, it’s .000001, or 1 in a million.

The probability is .8 multiplied by itself 40 times, but you had put a % sign without multiplying by 100, which means you were saying it was much less likely.

When you use a percent sign, you’re expressing the probability out of 100 instead of out of 1, that’s why I multiplied by 100.

.8 is only 80% if you multiply it by 100.
