Xbox Series S/X Artificial Biome and Layers

Hello, First post here and couldn’t find an exact thread I’m looking for.

So I’m trying to make a perfect world with artificial biomes to allow for every possible spawn of every critter and mob possible in the game and was wondering how the underground and cavern layers impact these spawns. I’ve currently made an artificial surface and underground desert that has been split into the three evil/hallow biomes with farms in the underground portion [See attached image one] and would like to do the same with the tundra soon, my problem is I can’t understand the wiki fully and have started to doubt my underground desert conversions because of it.

Im not certain if the underground will allow spawns of all possible desert and tundra variants and if I need to build these within the cavern layer. Now normally this wouldn’t be an issue as I can just build the same thing again underneath the underground portions for the cavern however the wiki says how there is no “underground tundra” until the cavern layer.

So I guess my questions are - will my underground desert conversions spawn in all possible mobs or will I need a cavern layer for the desert crimson/hallow/corruption mobs?

Would I be able to build the tundra version in the lighter blue section above (underground) or will there be no point and I need to place it in the darker blue section underneath (cavern)? [See attached image two]

Kind regards
Kyo

I don't believe any unique enemies spawn. A simple underground desert would work, although you should build it in the caverns in case I'm wrong.

Some underground ice enemies spawn, like Ice Bats and Undead Vikings...
So I guess my questions are - will my underground desert conversions spawn in all possible mobs or will I need a cavern layer for the desert crimson/hallow/corruption mobs?
...However, Snow Flinxes, Clingers, and Floaty Grosses do not spawn until the Caverns, to my knowledge.

You should just put it in the caverns. All enemies from underground and more spawn in the caverns.

Overall point:
Just build them in the caverns. All enemies from underground spawn in the caverns too.
If you want to be safe, just build both.

Ahhh I see, I want them to all be in line with my grid system so it was just bugging me that my tundra would be lower than what’s already been built for the deserts.

I’ll start building the tundra within the Cavern layer just so I don’t miss anything and then probably build a second tundra in line with my current deserts and a cavern layer for the deserts if the symmetry starts to bug me lol

+ I think I was supposed to build in caverns in the first place because of spawn rates or something aha

Thanks for you help
Kyo :)

New issue I’ve ran into for Artificial Biomes and layers…

So I’ve finished the underground evil desert farms and they work as intended [See attachment One and Two] with both corrupt and desert mobs spawning.

However I’ve duplicated the design and checked the dimensions of both farms as cross referencing for the Cavern layer version (i know kinda pointless) [See attachment Three and Four] they’re identical in the terms of size and blocks placed but for some reason no desert mobs nor corrupt mobs spawn unless the farm is off screen. My assumption was the farms aren’t large enough so I doubled checked dimensions and it should be fully functioning especially considering the underground versions are exact copies.

I can’t figure out the issue at all so I’m wondering if the cavern layer can even spawn these mobs (despite kinda knowing it can as it works when it’s slightly off screen), I don’t know I guess there’s something wrong with it aha

Kind regards
Kyo
