Well, if it were Minecraft we can work out (using EE2 EMC values) that emerald is worth 2x diamond, so by only that logic, it would be 3124 (1562*2), however we can work out that the toughness of emerald in real life is quite low, as it is a weak material, however this cannot present us with an immediate guesstimate of a durability value, and we cannot figure out, without doing a lot of number crunching, the exact amount of blocks that an emerald pickaxe would be able to destroy without being cast into disrepair.
